Bite reconstruction
When teeth wear down, the bite can close with them. Rebuilding the bite restores the height those teeth have lost, and in many cases it is done before the final crowns or implants are placed, so that everything fitted afterward fits to the corrected bite rather than to the worn one.
The new bite height is trialed in temporary restorations first and you live with it for a period before anything is made permanent. It is a slower way to work, but it means the final teeth are built to a bite you already know is comfortable.
